Terms of Service

The house rules for our cooperative kitchen.

Effective and last updated:

1. The game and its operator

These Terms govern the Panic! At The Pantry website and Discord Activity (the “Service”), operated by independent game developer Mauricio Hollando (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or playing the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

Contact the developer using the existing support form for Mauricio’s games. The form is currently branded Unalived; begin your message with “Panic! At The Pantry”. For privacy requests, choose Privacy or data request. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

2. Who may play

You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required in your country or by Discord when using its platform. If you are not legally able to agree to these Terms on your own, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to them on your behalf.

Browser play uses a nickname and a temporary room session. Discord play requires a Discord account and is also subject to Discord’s terms and rules. Keep your login and room-session credentials private. A shared room link or code lets others join a browser kitchen.

3. Permission to play and share

We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and play the Service for personal entertainment, subject to these Terms. You may share screenshots, videos, livestreams, and reviews of your own gameplay, including on monetized channels. Respect other players’ privacy and any third-party rights.

The game, its branding, and its original content remain the property of their respective owners. Separately distributed open-source code and art remain governed by their own licenses; these Terms do not remove rights granted by those licenses. The game uses Kenney art licensed under CC0 and original code-drawn visuals.

4. Be a good crewmate

Do not use the Service to harass, threaten, discriminate against, impersonate, or expose private information about another person. Do not use unlawful or abusive nicknames.

Do not attack the Service, steal credentials, exploit vulnerabilities, automate disruptive traffic, or use modified clients to bypass access controls or disrupt other players. Report security problems privately through Support. Ordinary cooperative strategy, learning recipes, and sharing gameplay information with your crew are part of the game.

We may restrict access or take other reasonable action to protect players, investigate abuse, comply with law, or maintain the Service. You can contact us if you believe a restriction was a mistake.

5. Gameplay, voice chat, and availability

Pantry is an online cooperative game. Orders, recipes, and dispatch destinations are intentionally shown to individual players so the crew can communicate. The Service does not provide, monitor, or record microphone audio. Voice calls are handled by Discord or whichever communication service you choose.

We may change recipes, rules, balancing, features, or supported devices, and may suspend or end the Service. Network delays, outages, bugs, and resets can occur. Rooms and scores are temporary, and we do not guarantee continuous availability or permanent progress. Scores have no cash value. This is a fictional cooking game, not food-safety or cooking advice.

6. Optional restaurant purchases

The original restaurant is free. Optional restaurant packs are offered as one-time durable purchases through Discord, with a US base price of $1.99 per pack. The localized price and any applicable taxes shown at checkout govern your purchase. No subscription is required. Each pack includes the named restaurant, its recipes and rules, and the chef outfit automatically used by the crew in that restaurant. It does not include other packs, future expansions, or content in another game.

Ownership is associated with the purchasing Discord account and is verified through Discord. One connected owner can make a restaurant available to the room; guests do not receive permanent ownership. An ongoing shift may finish if the owner disconnects, but another paid shift requires a connected owner. Purchases and ownership restoration are supported inside the Discord Activity. Browser guest accounts cannot purchase or restore Discord ownership.

Refunds and payment disputes are handled through Discord under its applicable purchase terms and refund procedures, subject to your mandatory consumer rights. Contact Discord for billing matters or our Support page for missing game access. Refunded or revoked entitlements may lose access after verification. Digital content is access to the online Service, not a guarantee that the Service will operate forever. Nothing here limits rights or remedies required by law, including those that apply if paid content is faulty or the Service is discontinued.

7. Your submissions

You retain ownership of your nickname, feedback, and support messages to the extent they are protected by law. You permit us to use them only as needed to operate the Service, display your chosen name to your crew, address your request, and improve the game. Do not submit someone else’s confidential information or content you have no right to share.

8. Third-party services

Cloudflare hosts the Service. Discord provides the Activity platform, identity services, and voice chat. Their services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Pantry is independently operated and is not endorsed by Discord or Cloudflare.

9. Warranties and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise that it will be error-free, continuously available, or suitable for every purpose. To that same extent, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by use of or inability to use the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct, or limits mandatory consumer rights. Any rights and remedies that local law requires remain available to you.

10. Ending use, changes, and questions

You may stop using the Service at any time and revoke its authorization in Discord. To request deletion of personal information, follow the Privacy Policy. Stopping play does not instantly erase all server or provider records.

We may update these Terms as the Service develops. The date above identifies this version. For material changes, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain agreement when required. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply where lawful.

Please contact us about questions or disputes so we can try to resolve them. These Terms do not require binding arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim in a court with jurisdiction.
